Tereza Afonso is an independent translator. She holds a Bachelor of laws (1999) from the Universidade Católica Portuguesa, Lisbon, a post-graduation in Retail Management (2003) from INDEG/ISCTE, Lisbon and a Master's in Translation and Multilingual Communication (2017) from the University of Minho, Braga.
She was the recipient of the APTRAD award 2017, an academic award of excellence given by the Portuguese Association of Translators and Interpreters.
Her research interests focus on translation studies, comparative law, and corpus-based contrastive analysis.
