Sílvia Araújo is Assistant Professor at the Institute of Arts and Humanities of the University of Minho. She holds a teaching degree in Portuguese and French from the University of Minho, a Master’s degree in French Language and Literature (1998) from the same university and a PhD in Applied Linguistics (2008) from the University Paris Diderot-Paris 7 and the University of Minho. She teaches corpus linguistics and technology-enhanced learning courses. Over the last few years she has participated in digital humanities projects, namely:
(i) the parallel corpus compilation project PER-FIDE − a multilingual parallel corpus that encompasses six languages with Portuguese as the pivot language (2010-2013);
(ii) Multi_feel [multilingual language training project] (2007-2012)
(ii) Enhancing teachers’ digital skills through digital-based learning activities. ["Cientificamente Provável" Program – FCT, 2019-].
(i) Active and Collaborative Learning Scenarios with Resource for Digital Tools: Multimodal mapping of Programmatic Content [Project supported by Centre IDEA-UMinho (2019 -)]
(iv) Project Eurorregion Intelligent Tourist Destination coordinated by the Agency for Technological Modernization of Galicia (AMTEGA) in collaboration with the Tourism Agency of Galicia, the Center for Computer Graphics, The Polytechnic Institute of Viana do Castelo, among others [project financed by the Interreg V-A España-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020 program] (2019-).
Her main research interests include corpus linguistics and technologies applied to language teaching and translation. She is a member of the board of directors of the Master’s Degree in Multilingual Translation and Communication and of the Master’s Degree in Digital Humanities. Since 2017, she is the coordinator of the Digital Humanities research group (GHD) of CEHUM.
