Probing consists of defining the communication topic and the research criteria.

When we set out to communicate about a scientific topic or concept, we must deepen our knowledge of that topic. The bibliographic search must be limited to the topic that has been chosen, and the sources of information must be reliable. Only with in-depth knowledge about a topic can you succeed in conveying a message.

Objective

This second module is intended for trainees to reflect on what scientific topic/concept they want to communicate. To do so, it is important that they: (i) recognize the importance of a good literature search, (ii) recognize the different search engines and literature search sources, and (iii) reflect on issues related to scientific and academic integrity and intellectual property.
