The set of interviews conducted by the Womanart research team aims at capturing a testimony of the experience of living under the dictatorships of Portugal and Brazil as an activist. Some of the interviewed are writers, film makers, art gallery owners, journalists and visual artists. They reflect about their own personal experiences while remembering circumstances and struggles of that time past, extrapolating on the influence of such historical circumstances over their professional lives and works.
In what concerns a younger generation of interviewees, their accounts were steered towards considering contemporary interpretations of these regimes, as well as their after effects on current debates and agendas.
